BASS6
I like my synth basses big and massive ... overpowering almost.
I've been through ARP2600s, Oberheim SEMs, MiniMoogs, MemoryMoogs, Prophet 5s, JD800s, JP8000s and many others - all good - in search of 'ultimate' synth bass sounds and I've been inspired by all sorts of artists.
But for me, some of the best, most driving bass sounds have come from big modular synths with their unlimited possibilities. With the Synthesizers.com system here at HS Towers, we can create those BIG bass sounds and much time is lost just revelling in these noises.
But Kontakt and sampling in general allows us to take that to a whole new level because you can take a massive bass sample ... and make it more massive with layering (note how I am trying to avoid the loathsome new word 'pHaTT'!!).
Bass6 (pronounced 'Basics') is just that - a collection of BIG, true analogue bass sounds from the Dotcom, all three Voltage Controlled Oscillators on full tilt through the Moogy transistor ladder filter with all the analogue non-linearities and quirks, warts and all. These are seriously 'analogue' synth bass samples in all their raw beauty but also taken to a new level in some patches.
And so it is with Bass6...
An 'oscillator' which provides the bass samples (here's just a handful of them)...
... is fed to a lowpass filter with an ADSR envelope and multi-wave LFO with a further envelope for amplitude. The LFO can also be applied to pitch and amplitude (for 'wobblebass' fashionability) and there's a start time control for governing the start point of the samples' playback...
There's also a simple vibrato oscillator (via the modwheel) and a variety of different play modes - poly, mono (with optional legato triggering) plus, for super-huge basses, a UNISON mode that allows you to stack up to nine voices with detune and stereo 'spread' for seriously huge bass sounds.
And it all comes with 64 presets in two manageable banks of 32 and the possibility to save your own creations either as presets or as NKIs.
But we've also endowed Bass6 with an appropriate chain of multi-FX in a 'Frankensynth' panel...
Big and cinematic basses, sub-audio basses so low that they grumble and click, tight funky little numbers, oscillator sync and filter sweeps, thick and open multi-oscillators, deep bowel wobbling bass pedal replications, bombing raid drones, hard sounds, soft sounds, odd stuff, filters modulated with FM, sine and sub basses, slightly clipped and dirty basses and solid square wave basses - it's all there in Bass6, a veritable cornucopia of 'go to' true analogue bass sounds from a living, breathing modular synth for almost any modern musical genre with a scripted panel that simply demands tweaking.
The 'Bass Heavy' audio demo features a selection of presets from Bass6 with a few noises from the Modular Toolkit MLM.

Loving these basses, Stephen. Using them already in some projects already. They'll be really useful in my work. I own a lot of your libraries now and they are always inspirational and take me somewhere.

Someone else here said that your libraries don't sound like samples but like real synths and this is true of Basics6. It sounds and feels like a real synth.
Well done and great VFM.
