SQUAREPAD
SquarePad is our latest MLM Lite. Made up of detuned square waves from our resident Synthesizers.com modular's three VCOs (voltage controlled oscillator). One VCO has an LFO applied for a bit of movement. Furthermore, the samples are typically over a minute long which not only gives them time to 'breathe' but also allowed me to fiddle with controls making each sample uniquely animated which all come together beautifully when played polyphonically in Kontakt where they produce a very 'organic' and evolving sound.
These pass through the Suit&Tie Guy 'Sea Devil' VCS3 filter cologne ... sorry - clone (although first is apt - it adds a lovely perfume to whatever you shove through that quirky little filter with all its odd non-linearities and little distortions!) then onto the Fixed Filter Bank before going onto a Boss CE300 analogue rack mount chorus, arguably their most luscious, gorgeous and swirliest chorus ever...
The result is a generator of rich and smooth pads, textures and soundscapes. With a few tweaks to the voice architecture here (including a 4-pole lowpass filter, for example), it's capable of some very strong sounds. Not mainstream fodder, granted, but for a "WTF is that?" sound, it's ideal. And we do "WTF?" sounds here at The Towers. Go elsewhere for (yawn) techno loops and grime and dubstepping - they're everywhere. That said, there's nothing to stop the noises SquarePad makes from fitting into these genres with some imagination.
I've also been a bit of a fan of gitwrist Lyle Mays in the past and his use of Oberheim for square wave pads and stuff - SquarePad does all that with its eyes closed and one hand tied behind its back!!
It's something of a 'one trick pony' in a way but it's one hell of a trick. And all this passes to a comprehensive effects section - chorus > echo > convolved reverb with custom impulses...
There's a stereo enhancer in there as well to create a broad and expansive sound.
SquarePad also comes with a handful of presets to get you started and tweak.

Thankyou for making great sounds so affordable. Impressive audio demo too. So spacey and reamy. I don't bother listening to them until after I have bought. Good to see you have some positive comments there- well deserved.
Keep up the amazing work.
Mike
CE300 - I'd forgotten all about that. I had one years ago and got rid of it. D'oh. Sounds great here. More please.
Maxim
Thanks Steve for another jewel, I love the GUI's and descriptions as much as the wonderful sounds you produce and the fact that they are so affordable means a lot to me in my Golden, well maybe silver years
Jesse
