TECHTRON
Using battered casework and components we salvaged from old Soviet Union submarine radio equipment that was languishing and due for cruel and ruthless de-commisioning, Techtron brings thoroughly modern sounds in re-purposed retro style.
With two 'super' oscillators featuring thick, detuned sawtooths (which we call 'iSaw' here at HS Towers and come courtesy of HS chum, BeMuso) through a multimode, dual slope filter, two envelopes, two LFOs, a pitch EG, mono and poly playback modes with glide, etc., Techtron offers instant 'techno' sounds that are powerful, wide, bright, brash, fizzy and anthemic and yet also capable of chunky basses, spiky arpeggios, thick leadlines and lush, luxuriously smooth pads plus dark, broody and moody textures.
There is also a powerful arpeggiator with a wide variety of patterns and variable velocity curve.
Add to this 'factory' and user presets and a comprehensive multi-effects chain comprising EQ, distortion, cab simulation, chorus, phaser, rotary cabinet, echo and convolved reverb offering everything from tight rooms to spacious halls and massive ambient washes plus classic vintage spring reverb impulses, Techtron complements the Music Laboratory Machines perfectly with a very different and contrasting soundset.
It even comes with documentation we found attached to the unit...

Techtron is one of the nicest instruments I've encountered in a long long time, and the reason for this is that it's niched. If you love big sawtooth sounds - you'll love Techtron. Techtron is instant love. Every time load up Techtron I always come up with a musical idea, which probably is the best verdict you can give any musical tool. And considering Techtron sells for six pounds - it's as much of a no-brainer I can think of.

what a wonderful instrument! playful and clear interface, great presets, and super tweak-able.
you've received many positive comments about the super saw textures, and they're awesome, but i love the smooooth sound i'm getting here too.
great work.

Just had a quick play and it has a dance feel to it. Some of it's tones sort of remind me of my JP8000 and its super saw waves-It can do those JP8000/Virus type stabs and lush pads very well.

iSaw. I see what you did there. Very funny.
The GUI's not an eyesore though. It's beautiful. I don;t know how you do it for these prices. Quality stuff and right up there with the big players charging 10x as much.
Sorry, I'll rephrase that. Better than them. Sounds great too. Well done.
